OUR HONOREES
Jane and Joel Ronis
HONOREES
Jane and Joel Ronis are long-time residents of Port Washington, proud supporters of the arts, and former Board Members of HEARTS PW. Their collective leadership and contributions helped launch HEARTS PW, establishing and supporting programs that have enriched the lives of thousands of Port Washington residents through the arts.
Jane Ronis is one of the lucky few to have had two incredibly fulfilling careers and raised a family. After graduating with a Masters in Directing from The University of Pittsburgh, she embarked on a 15-year career as a professional stage manager working in opera, dance and theatre here and abroad, eventually spending five years as the production stage manager at the prestigious Pittsburgh Public Theatre. She moved to New York, where she met Joel, and worked off-Broadway while starting and raising a family of three children together. A talented culinary master, she is the proud owner of Chef for a Night, a well-regarded catering company with over 10 years of success. She was a founding Board Member of HEARTS PW and served as Events Chair for many years, and continues to support the arts in Port Washington as the stage manager for the Community Synagogue Theatre Company, and running the synagogue's Time for Dinner program which addresses food insecurity.
Joel Ronis served not only as Board Member of HEARTS PW but also as President of the organization. During his tenure, he was proud to introduce local merchant and arts populations to HEARTS PW, working in tandem to raise awareness for critical funding of the arts. He was also responsible for advancing the non-profit's executive and administrative needs, including evaluating, establishing, and maintaining platforms to manage donor relationships. For many years, he owned Minuteman Press in Port Washington, providing printing and design services for a wide-range of clients in and beyond the community. A dedicated theater lover, he continues to perform on Port Washington stages as part of the Community Synagogue Theater Company, Landmark Radio Theater, and others.

Leyalanny Mata
FOUNDER'S AWARD RECIPIENT
Leyalanny Mata's passion for the performing arts was borne out her daughter Aurora's own passion. Aurora interests in the arts came at a very early age, and soon both mother and daughter were immersed in the world of musical theater. A dedicated mother, Leyalanny never misses a show or event, and is always looking for new ways to add value to the theater experiences in our community. Shortly after moving ton Port Washington six years ago, she found herself focusing on how to serve the community at large - eventually volunteering with local groups and events from including HEARTS PW and PortFest, Harborfest, Curtains Up and serving as a board member for one of the great summertime traditions, the Port Summer Show.
When not selling raffle tickets to benefit theater groups, bringing dinner to show rehearsals or soliciting raffle prizes, Leyalanny spends her time volunteering to read with 1st and 2nd grade children, indulges in her love of Dancing with the Stars and and giving lots of love and attention to the most recent addition to their family, Chops, her charming and cuddly baby pig.
A graduate of Vassar College and NYU School of Public Health, Leyalanny is an executive sales professional with deep experience in the areas of logistics and insurance. A lifelong entrepreneur, Leyalanny has launched several successful business ventures throughout her career. All her ventures have a philanthropic aspect, most recently a joint venture with her daughter Aurora to bring snacks and smoothies to healthcare professionals at St. Francis Hospital.
Leyalanny is honored and thrilled to receive the Founders Award and is deeply grateful to the Hearts PW Board for this incredible honor, and for their support and tireless efforts to bring great arts programs to Port.
