HEARTS: INSPIRING CREATIVITY
HEARTS is an independent, grassroots not-for-profit 501(c)3 community organization whose mission is to add meaningful value to children's lives and our community by supporting, promoting and enriching the arts in Port Washington and its public schools.
We are thrilled to announce a new grant opportunity for budding artists! Beloved Sousa art teacher, Mr. Moore, will be running a FREE 10-week after-school art program for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade Port Washington School District students at Sousa beginning on March 23rd. Thank you to everyone who attended our Red Party celebration honoring our Co-Founders Damon Gersh and Sheri Suzzan. Your continued support is what makes HEARTS' mission to enrich the arts in Port Washington's public schools and our community possible. HEARTS is grateful to our sponsors who made this amazing event possible.
Congratulations to our 2017 Grantees! Please click here to find a complete list of the 30 grants that will provide arts enrichment programming to children across the district. We are so thankful to all who took the time to apply and to all our generous supporters. We can't wait for another year of singing, dancing, painting and poetry-making!
HEARTS is thrilled to partner again with the Creative Arts Department of the Port Washington School District, the HSAs, and the Ed Foundation to bring the amazing Dancing Classrooms program to all Port Washington fifth grade students. Children from all five elementary schools are stepped outside their comfort zones and learned essential life skills through the art of social dance.
Mark your calendars! Portfest 2017 will be on Saturday, May 13th. HEARTS is looking forward to another year of funding fantastic arts enrichment programs for young people in Port Washington. For more information or to find out how your can help, visit www.pwportfest.org.
